How we planted FECA Odenigbo in 2011

This is the continuation of the main story. Read this first to fully understand the story.

When Kelzy introduced Mrs Romzy, she said the following:

"Well, I don't have much to say because my coordaintor has said almost all that needs to be said." She paced around for a few seconds trying to gather her thoughts.

"If you are a president in a chapter and you are not doing the right things that you should be doing, just know that you will give account of the people that God has placed under you. You cannot come to a prayer meeting and leave your prayer secretary begind. Let's read a scripture."

There was silence all over the hall when Mrs Romzy began to address the Congressmen. It seemed to be drizzling outside with lots of breeze inflating the curtains that covered the windows. I was sitting at the back all these while, with Ekene Nwadike and Obi Godswill. The three of us sat at the last row.

Mrs Romzy continued after reading the Scriptural passage, "If you are a president who hardly pays all acrrued levies, , or you hardly give reports or you like to give excuses, I can tell what is happening in your chapter. Like I know what and what are going on in your chapter, if you fall in this category of presidents. There are things that you cannot tell your leaders that will make sense to them unless they come to meetings like this. See, sometimes I had to invite Senior Members to come and speak to my leaders because at some point your wisdom will fail you. Raking will fail you. It is only those things that your leaders hear from meetings like Fire Conference or any FECA Convention that will help build their leadership capacity. Because there is somewhere you are going to and if those on foot are outwalking you now, what will be your  story when you are working with horsemen? For they will surely come. The things I leanrt in FECA are invaluable and they are helping me in my workplace today. If your leaders in Odenigbo chapter cannot come to Fire Conference when you are president, how would you handle a company out there? How would you handle horsemen?

"I have a bias for Odenigbo people. I remember when we had a cell in FECA Odenigbo and because of the scanitness of the cell, some leaders raked us in 2011. Then I was president of FECA Nsukka. So I made up my mind to plant a chapter in Odenigbo. Between then and now (2022) is ten years. We embarked on a massive evangelism at Odenigbo; we did lots of outreaches and we planted FECA Odenigbo chapter. I remember after the planting, Odenigbo was a place we did not do much work at. So the problem started long ago.

"Odenigbo. You cannot come to Congress without your complete congressmen. It is an abomination, and you even have the guts to step into this place and open your mouth to say you don't have all your soldiers here. Because they are the ones who will give you headache when you go back. If they are not here now, they are not getting all these things that we are saying, so they will give you tough time when you get home. I'm talking to all Congressmen. I don't even think you are doing outreaches regularly. One thing about outreach is that it bears fruits.  The Bible says that the Lord added unto them daily, because they were reaching out to people. I don't know how you want to do it, but make sure that you do it. Multiply your chapter. Because we may get to the point where we would want to hand over and we would not ses anybody to hand over to. And the work rests on your chapter leaders. We are not looking for numbers to brag, but because people are dying daily in secondary schools. The work never really ends. If you are already failing, you have planned to fail in life. What will hapeen when now that you are walking and people are already overtaking you? Because the time is coming when you will be walking with horsemen, you will be left behind. Far behind. For they will surely come.

"Whatever skills you needed, apply them and make sure that you build your chapters. We are not taking people to fellowship for nothing sake. There is a need to save those in secondary schools. I remember in 2011, Agolum's mother gave him one hundred and one reasons why he should not attend a FECA meeting. But after telling him that, he have to still go. This man never stopped talking about that meeting because it was one of the meetings that changed his life. Till today. Presidents and Vice presidents, it is your duties to let them know that this thing is about their lives. I remember in those days, every congress we had was like a retreat, so you can't come back after congress and remain the same. Congress changes you. Congress is what many other people pay thousands of naira to attend but you are getting it for free here in FECA. You may not be seeing it righ now. Because you are doing it with blood and sweat and tears. But I am telling you, your life is being transformed. I am begging you. If you know what lies ahead, you can't joke with this thing called leadership. You cannot see your fellow leader misbehaving and keep quiet. You cannot come to congress with incomplete reports. Delivery is what you will be doing till tomorrow. If there was no profit in this thing, I would not have been here. I remember then, Julius, a one time national external coordinator of FECA Nigeria, he once told me that it will never get any easier. It struck me profoundly. Because that time I was in my final year in school doing my project, I was chapter president, and I was handling so many national responsibilities and it was not easy at all. The Church I attend where I function at right now, they once gave me a Youth Conference to host and it was everything that I learnt in FECA that I applied there. The Youth Conference was dope. It was something I learnt in FECA. And that was where I met my husband. When we hosted national convention, it took I am Azam one month. What other chapters take over three months to plan for. And it was a huge success. So when we are telling you to give your all, we mean it because it's your life. So what's the excuse? You have no excuse. Parental restrictions? That's nonesense. Tell your people. Give them reasons because there are people who produce weaklings. Refuse to take excuses because there are valid excuses. Don't take any reason from anyone. Unless someone's parents died then I can consider listening again. That's the only time when I will allow someone to miss congress. And they must come to congress on Saturday.

"So I believe with these many pooints of mine, I have been able to convince you  that you must be serious in this business. "

                                                                Mrs Chizurum Ezeaku.
